This site is dedicated to the memory of Hank Bartlett.

Henry (Hank) Arthur Bartlett. Born in India on 25th May 1925. (His Father was a Major in the British Army). Schooled there and came to the UK in 1948 to join the wider family. Hank was a real Gentleman and character. His sense of humour was widely appreciated. Although he suffered badly with emphysema which, we believe he contracted from his former job as a Fireman on the footplates of steam engines, he never weakened in his resolve to make the most of life. A great sportsman he was captain of his cricket and football teams at his boarding school in India. He also excelled in athletics. On his arrival in the UK he carried on his sporting activities and especially enjoyed playing cricket for the British Railways team at Gidea Park (Romford). Hank was, as I have stated, a real Gentleman in every sense. A wonderful father who, as many of us come to realise too late, perhaps not fully appreciated at the time as much as he is now. This is why I have resolved to honour his memory by helping to raise money in order to help others as he did all his life. Hank passed through life spreading joy and was raised to those Immortal Mansions on 1st June 2006 just six weeks before the birth of his first Great Grandchild (Henry). To date he is, we are sure, the proud Great Grandfather of five. From April 2012 I am undertaking a voyage around the UK in my 31' sailing cruiser "PureJoy". Although it is driven by an hedonistic desire I also intend to raise money for Hank's "Breath of Life" Fund. For details of the trip go to www.ian-bartlett.co.uk
